MusicalArts Academy of Music and Dance is a NH certified Youth Skill Camp Program. Offering music lessons, dance classes, theater classes and summer camps for ages 4 and up! See below for all the full line up of Summer Dance Camps and Theatre Camp at the Word Barn! There is a fun theme for everyone and dress up is always encouraged! 2026 SUMMER THEATRE CAMP at THE WORD BARN

Session I: Godspell Jr.

Join us for a two week whirlwind of singing, dancing, acting and more! Campers will spend two weeks honing their craft, working with professional artists from all around the Seacoast, and learning a full length musical (Godspell JR.), culminating with a final performance in the beautiful Word Barn Meadow.

We will jump right in on day one with improv games, voice, dance, and acting classes, and ensemble building. Campers will have the chance to audition the first day, and will leave knowing their role in the production, ready to begin rehearsals first thing Tuesday morning. MusicalArts focuses on team building, working as an ensemble, the process of putting up a show, and sending campers home at the end of the session with a solid foundation in theatre arts. We pride ourselves on offering students a safe space to be themselves, create, build lasting friendships and flourish as artists.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm

Session II: A Year With Frog & Toad KIDS

Word Barn Kids Camp: MINI
Our second summer of our one week Word Barn session for younger camp friends! Still the same WB summer camp fun, geared toward a younger crowd. Campers will learn a 30 minute version of “Frog and Toad”, ending with two performances live in The Word Barn Meadow!

Ages: 7 – 10
Dates: July 20-24, 2026 (performances 7/24 & 7/25 in The Word Barn Meadow)
Hours: 9AM – 4PM

CITs
Counselors in Training (CITs) are campers who demonstrate exemplary leadership, honesty, and responsibility. CITs act as leaders within camp as well as a support system for their Counselors while still participating in all aspects of camp life. Applications for CITs will be carefully reviewed as spots are limited. CITs will receive $300 off tuition. Applicants must be at least 15 years old during camp.

FROZEN FRENZY DANCE CAMP
This camp offers daily music, dance and crafts from both movies- dress up is encouraged! Every day will end with a short performance. This popular camp fills quickly and space is limited.

FAIRY TALE DANCE CAMP
Every day we’ll enter the world of a different fairy tale with dance, music, theater and art. We’ll make fairy wands, crowns, dress up, and dance with your child’s favorite fairy tales! Engaging teachers will captivate your child’s imagination and engage their love of dance. This popular camp fills quickly and space is limited.

CIRCUS CAMP
Circus Camp is a day-camp experience designed to introduce children to circus, performing, and visual arts in a safe and noncompetitive environment. This is a great intro to aerial, or a way for the experienced aerialists to practice over the summer. Join us for juggling, aerial silks, magic, face painting, mime, puppetry, arts & crafts, storytelling, music, acrobats and more!

THEATRE CAMP: Fairytale Tails
An exciting opportunity to perform in a production! Mornings are filled with warm ups, improv games, learning music and choreography, followed by afternoon rehearsals. Students will create basic sets and costumes for our end of session performance at the end of the week.

AERIAL CAMP
Aerial camp is designed for current aerial students–and this summer campers can try out a NEW apparatus–the corde lisse!. This week-long camp will give students time on the silks, trapeze, Lyra AND the corde lisse, conditioning work, strengthening exercises, help gain flexibility and more to further skills. A small performance will be held in the studio at the end of the week.
