2023/2024 Auditions
You know the deal, every year on the second day of February we eagerly await the appearance of a groundhog named Phil. As he makes his grand entrance we clamor with anticipation, eyes peering all about him in search of Phil’s all-knowing shadow. If we do see his shadow, we are in for six more weeks of miserable, cold winter. If we do not see his shadow, however, we are bequeathed an early spring… But what happens if Phil doesn’t show? Over the years Phil has grown to despise Groundhog Day, and this year he has finally reached his breaking point. This year for Groundhog Day, instead of doing what everyone else wants him to do, Phil is going to do what he wants to do because, after all, it is The Groundhog’s Day. Based on the beloved A.A. Milne stories, Winnie the Pooh and all his Hundred Acre Woods pals come to life in this brand new musical adaptation. But whether up a tree, running from heffalumps and woozles, or stuck in a tight spot, Pooh can always rely on his friends to get him sorted out again. Based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic.
