Peach picking season is here! Where to go to pick & what to do with them.
I’ll admit it… somehow I manage to miss peach picking season almost every year!
My theory? Peak peach season falls right after blueberry picking and just before apple season. That’s a lot of fruit picking to keep track of!
Peach picking is a wonderful late-summer tradition! Kids love filling their baskets, tasting fruit right off the tree, and learning where their food comes from. It’s an easy way to spend a morning outdoors before the busy back-to-school season begins.
If you’re hoping not to miss it this year, we’ve rounded up several local farms where you can pick your own juicy peaches. Just remember to call ahead before you go, as weather and crop availability can change daily.

Every summer both Applecrest Farm and Cider Hill Farm hold annual Peach Festivals and Celebrations in August. Union Lake Peach Orchard hosts an annual Peach Pancake Breakfast. This event supports the local Barrington Food Pantry and it’s rain or shine when you can enjoy it no matter the weather with their amazing barn.

In our area, the active peach picking season is generally between early August and early September.
