It’s Strawberry pickin’ time. Find a Pick-Your-Own farm near you!
It’s that time of year again when local farms are opening up for pick-your-own strawberries and other fruits ripening throughout the summer. The season for any particular fruit is no more than three or four weeks, so don’t delay if you are looking for something specific. See our chart below for typical fruit picking times.
Strawberries: mid-June through mid-July
Cherries: June through July
Blueberries: mid-July through mid-August
Raspberries: mid-August through September
Peaches, Nectarines and Pears: early-August thru mid-September
Apples: mid-August through October
Check out our listing of local pick-your-own facilities and farms. Please be sure to call ahead before visiting as hours and conditions change on a daily basis, especially for the smaller area farms. Many farms offer more than just picking including petting zoos, playgrounds and farmers’ markets. Make a whole day of it!

Tips for PYO Strawberries.
- Dress comfortably for the weather and remember you will get dirty!
- Wear a hat and/or sunscreen.
- It’s always a good idea to call ahead and inquire about picking conditions as crop availability can change daily.
- Majority of the U-Pick farms provide containers, but if you would like to bring your own container to take fruit home the farm will weigh your container before you head out to pick.
