Davis Farmland is Open for the Season!
After a long New England winter, it’s time to get outside, breathe in the fresh air, and let the kids burn off that winter energy. Davis Farmland, one of New England’s most beloved family destinations, reopens for its 30th anniversary season on Thursday, April 16, just in time for April School Vacation.
For three decades, Davis Farmland has been creating hands-on, unforgettable childhood experiences—giving families a place to connect with animals, nature, and each other in a safe, welcoming environment designed specifically for children.
And spring is one of the most special times to visit.
Guests can snuggle babies galore, from playful goats and cuddly lambs to fluffy chicks and more. Combined with wide-open outdoor spaces, it’s the perfect way for kids to shake off the winter months and rediscover the joy of being outside.
But this season is about more than just opening day
“For 30 years, families have trusted us with some of their most important moments — their children’s first experiences with animals, the outdoors, and the simple joys of being a kid,” said Larry Davis, co-owner of Davis Farmland. “What makes this anniversary so special is that we’re now seeing the children of our very first guests coming back with families of their own.”
The largest sanctuary of endangered farm animals in North America, Davis Farmland has welcomed generations of visitors who return year after year as part of their family traditions—from feeding animals and taking hayrides to simply spending a day outdoors together.

Pet, cuddle, and feed North America’s largest collection of endangered livestock breeds. Ride a pony, take a Safari Hayride out to the back pastures to meet our largest animals. Be a junior farmer by helping the farmers milk a goat, collect chicken eggs, bottle feed the babies, and groom the animals. Check out the reptile ranch and the Moo Moo fun stations. It’s an interactive, educational, and super fun experience!

Do the bunny bounce, crawl, slither, scoot, slide and ride your way to FUN! Slide down the 80 foot Cow-A-Bunga Super Slide, Dig for Dino bones, build a cabin, scale to the peak of the summit climber, scoot around on the scooter bugs or take a spin on the pedal carts and explore age appropriate play structures.
Imagine-Acres focuses on your young child’s imagination with kid powered fun, nature and learning through play. Bounce, climb, pretend, and let your inner child run wild. Explore sand and water play, bounce on the Jumbo Jump Pad, state-of-the-art play structures, Baby and Me Swings and Toddler Play. Don’t miss MooTown! Mootown is a child size pretend village.

Cowabunga Spray Park (Opening in June for the Season)
The Cowabunga Splash Park is America’s largest zero-depth water splash park!
With two expansive spray pads—one for toddlers and one for multi-generational fun—parents and kids can play side by side, exploring every kind of mister, sprinkler, and geyser imaginable.
Chill under the Water Tower or Windmill, dash through the Rainbow Rings, splash through Bubble Blast, race down the Slip & Slide, and conquer our all-new inflatable waterslide!

Davis Farmland is a seven-generation, working family farm, continuously operating in Sterling, MA since 1846. They are home to the largest sanctuary of endangered farm animals in North America. Since 1996, Davis Farmland has entertained families, featuring discovery play and learning areas designed for children ages 1-8.
