Wentworth Cheswill’s Block Party

Let’s make history together. Music, food, community tables, family activities, and beer at the Newmarket Mills courtyard! Get your tricorn hat and join us for a mini-block party named for Newmarket’s 18th century town father Wentworth Cheswill. Bring a lawn chair and listen to music by the Fiddling Thomsons, a father/son fiddling duo not to be missed. Engage with family activities or relax in the outdoor beer g̶a̶r̶d̶e̶n̶ balcony.
ADMISSION: Free.
Donations accepted to benefit community efforts to construct a monument in memory of Newmarket’s Wentworth Cheswill, Revolutionary War veteran, pioneering archaeologist, educator, judge, messenger for the Committee of Safety (like Paul Revere!), recognized as the first person of African descent elected to public office in the United States.
PARKING: Parking for the Newmarket Mills is across the street, but handicap spaces are available near the block party site.
