New England Fall Astronomy Festival

October 5, 2024 @ 10:30 AM - 11:30 PM
Free

Come get captivated by the cosmos at the New England Fall Astronomy Festival! This celestial celebration is open to people of all ages and education levels — you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to attend this free educational event.
The festival kicks off on Friday evening with a keynote lecture from Heidi Hammel, an interdisciplinary scientist on the James Webb Telescope Project, followed by laser pointer talks under the stars and night sky observation. On Saturday, join us for astronomy activities and games, build and launch a rocket, learn how to safely observe the sun, enter raffle drawings for astronomy prizes and spend another night stargazing with our astronomy experts. New this year: Hop on a free shuttle bus and head over to Ocean Discovery Day — another free, family-friendly event on the UNH campus focused on marine science. Food vendors will be available at both locations. From the seafloor to the stars, join us for two fantastic (and free!) STEM events.
