“On a night in January 2020, Kevin Trainer heard that the Gundalow Company (a non-profit organization in Portsmouth, New Hampshire) was looking for a board game that they could use in their summer camp programs on rainy days. With this inspiration, he designed Gundalow (the board game).

Kevin Trainer spent many hours in the mud around Great Bay while a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire. A professional geologist by training, he enjoys building things and trying to persuade his children to play board games. He lives in Kittery, Maine with his family, not far from the Piscataqua River.
