Special Earth Day program: Meet the Scientist: Our Changing Ocean with Boston College 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Indoors, Join Professor Tony Wang from the Earth and Environmental Sciences department at Boston College to explore the science of our changing ocean. Discover the intricate workings of ocean circulation and the essential role of phytoplankton, practice fish dissection and uncover earstones (otoliths), and use a microscope to identify microfossils. Learn about the impact of climate change on coral reefs and the Antarctic Ocean. These hands-on activities will offer valuable insights into the dynamic world of ocean science! Note: If weather is inclement, museum may reach capacity and there could be a wait to get in. This is only if outdoor space is not being utilized due to weather.

The Zoo in Forest Park is an independent non-profit organization and a separate entity from Forest Park and the City of Springfield. The City of Springfield charges $3/in-state plate and $5/out-of-state plate, cash only, to park inside Forest Park. This is not included with free admission. It is free to enter on foot or by bike.
