Need a little extra time? You may add before and or after care to your camper’s week. Drop off is from 8-8:30 a.m. and we will get them to their camp on time! Extend your camper’s day following camp until 4 p.m.

Lunch Break
Looking to combine a morning and afternoon camp together for your camper, or extend the fun with friends for lunch? Let us provide supervision and playtime for an hour by picking them up from their morning camp and bringing them to their afternoon camp. You pack the lunch, we bring the fun! Parents/guardians are also welcome to pick up your child in between camps for lunch and return for the afternoon session.

Summer Explorers “BASE” Camps
Join us for BASE Camp–Berwick Academy Summer Explorers! Each week will be filled with creativity, nature, outdoor play, games, sprinklers/water games, and more! Berwick Academy staff and counselors will be guiding campers through safe and fun experiences across the entire campus. Every week will bring new experiences, friends, and memories! This summer we’re excited to partner with Tammy Jones of Doodlebugz Studio in Berwick for arts and crafts on campus as part of BASE Camp for all ages! Campers will get creative in a variety of mediums, using materials such as air dry clay, paint, glass, and more! BASE Camp Adventure
BASE Adventure is a version of BASE Camp for our older campers! During this camp more time will be spent on the amazing trails throughout Berwick Academy’s 80+ acre campus, exploring all that nature has to offer. BASE Adventure will also feature activities with Doodlebugz Studio and Berwick Academy Dance. ARTS CAMPS

Storybook Theater | Grades 1-4 | July 8-12
Storybook Theater Camp will use skills like creativity and teamwork to bring a storybook to life. The week will be filled with improv games, costume designing, and rehearsals all culminating in a live performance for friends and family at the end of the week! About the Instructor: Guinevere Hilton received her B.F.A. in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she studied Acting and Directing at Playwright’s Horizons Theater School. She has been sharing her love of theater through teaching and directing children and youth theater since 2000.

Soar into the world of comics with Comic Creatives! Young artists will learn everything there is to know about the creation of comics from start to finish. They’ll explore different comic styles, such as the classic comic strip, manga, and the superhero golden age. Be who you want to be in Costume Creatives! Participants will learn how to use simple everyday recyclable materials to make awesome costumes, props, armor, and more. From planning on paper to crafting with a variety of mediums, campers will be guided through the entire creation process. Campers will have access to sewing machines and learn some sewing basics. Intro to Film & Animation | Grades 5-8 | July 8-12
Introduction to Film & Animation is designed to take those with an interest in cinema and turn them into budding filmmakers/animators. This hybrid course will touch on everything from storyboarding to stop-motion animation and live-action filmmaking. Campers will work in all phases of production from pre-production planning to editing on Adobe Premiere. On the last day of class, campers will have a community film screening to celebrate their work.

Sketch Comedy Camp | Grades 5-8 | July 15-19
Sketch Comedy Camp is for those who love to make people laugh! Participants will discover their comedic self through an immersive experience, writing, rehearsing, and performing their own original comedy skits. Campers will learn about the power of collaborative arts, hone their observational and listening skills, and build on acting fundamentals. Campers will also watch classic and current comedians to learn about timing and personal style. There will be a live show on the last day of camp. Notebooks will be available and students are encouraged to bring their computer for writing only. About the Instructor: Stephanie S. Lazenby is a theater-maker, with a focus on comedy and original productions. She brings years of professional experience as a writer, performer, and producer to her educational work. She is the creator, facilitator, and host of Couch to Mic, a comedy performance and writing workshop for adults, featured at 3S Artspace in downtown Portsmouth, NH. Stephanie is a juried Artist-in-Residence through the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.

Let’s Get Our Hands Dirty | Grades 5-9 | June 3-7
Get messy! In this camp, campers will learn how to ice dye (with a few white items from home), try out paper marbling, make small trinket bowls out of clay, and experiment with silicone and/or concrete molds. Adventures in Photography | Grades 5-9 | July 1-3
Adventures in Photography is an action-packed camp! For two days, the camp will travel to multiple destinations to explore and photograph a variety of subjects. Each travel day will have themes and objectives that push campers to expand their style and compositional skills. Campers will experiment with the manual photography settings on their phones and on personal digital cameras. On the third day, the camp will photograph locally and spend most of the day in the Digital Lab printing and framing their best work! Campers will bring fashion where you least expect it by learning how to sew everyday items. Metalsmithing | Grades 5+ | June 10-14
Prior experience is not required in this beginner/intermediate camp. Campers will cover fundamental skills, soldering techniques, sawing, and light forming. Working with copper, brass, and silver, campers will be able to create and complete a variety of wearable, functional pieces. Participants will also learn how to incorporate colorful epoxy resin into their projects. Students should bring a sketchbook.

Expect the unexpected in Improv Camp! College Admissions Boot Camp | Grades 11-12 | July 15-19
College Admissions Boot Camp provides students with all the tools they need to conduct a thorough, thoughtful, and successful college search. Participants will receive expert guidance on how to identify their best fit colleges, complete the Common Application, write an impactful college essay, and navigate the financial aid and scholarship process. Participants will use BA vehicles to visit several colleges and develop communication strategies for the college admissions process.

Whishmaker Stables Horseback Riding Camp | Grades 2-8 | Multiple Sessions
Whishmaker Stables Horseback Riding Camp offers a basic foundation to start excelling at riding horses. This camp is suitable for those who have never ridden as well as those who are consistently in a riding program. The facility boasts a large barn of 46 horses and ponies to provide options for any level rider. Outside of riding, the camp will feature educational sessions that focus on many different aspects of horse care such as proper diets, horse anatomy, tack parts, and basic first aid.

Our Outlook Summer Golf Academy camp is designed to pique the interest of potential new golfers and offer experienced golfers the instruction they need to improve. With half and full day options this camp works for a variety of summer schedules. Half day campers will still have the opportunity to play a few holes on the golf course to practice their skills. Outlook will provide all equipment for participants. Lunch is provided for full day campers. About the Coach: Coach Michael Corriveau is certified as a USGTF and WGTF teaching professional. He has a great deal of experience coaching local high school players, as well as competitive junior players.

Equischolars Horse Care Camp | Grades 3-8 | Multiple Sessions
The EquiScholars Horse Care Camp provides a truly unique journey that will bring campers closer to horses while fostering growth. This is a hands-on experience on a working farm. Horse-centered activities help deepen the animal’s connection to campers and participants will learn how to better communicate with and understand these magnificent creatures. From species-specific horse care and equine therapy techniques to advanced natural horsemanship, campers will share experiences, stories, and the joy of being with horses in this unique program.

Those interested in developing their shooting skills can target Archers Artemis Archery Camp! Participants will learn all the basics of the National Training System and the shooting form of the US Olympic team, all taught by a USA Archery Level 4 Coach and Instructors. Campers will play various archery games and end with an official Pin Shoot.

KPYC Sailing Camp | Grades 5-8 | August 19-22
Set sail with KPYC Sailing this summer! Participants will be transported via motorboat from KPYC to a large float in the Portsmouth back channel to learn the ins and outs of sailing. This camp is designed for those who are ready to learn and practice fundamental sailing skills while gaining greater confidence skippering Optis or Vanguard 420s. Campers will be taught in sailing school boats and learn to confidently control the tiller and sail simultaneously in order to handle the boats independently. Youth will learn sailing nomenclature, knot tying, boat rigging, boat handling, wind direction, water safety, and boat maintenance. A Coast Guard approved Type III life jacket (vest style) is required.

Intro to Volleyball will serve up a great opportunity for athletes to learn new skills in the sport of volleyball. The camp is designed to provide a strong foundation for proper mechanics in all aspects of the game, and includes game-like situations and drills to help facilitate faster learning and greater transfer of acquired skills to game situations. Coach Blanchard will place a strong emphasis on the laws of motor learning and biomechanics to ensure faster player development and increased learning. About the Coach: Coach Blanchard is a native New Englander who started his 30-year career playing beach volleyball in Maine and varsity collegiate volleyball at Westfield State College. He has coached at all levels and has 15 years of coaching experience in NCAA Division I Women’s volleyball, and served as the Head Coach for the UNH Women’s Volleyball team.

Ride the 5 with Liquid Dreams Surf Shop | Grades 5-12 | June 10-14
This camp is designed to teach all five wave and watercraft activities Liquid Dreams Surf Shop has to offer: surfing, boogie boarding, skimboarding, stand up paddling, and body surfing. Each day participants will be equipped with wetsuits and surfboards for a 1-2 hour morning surf session. After lunch, campers will work on other water activities or continue to surf. This camp will have a 5:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

Summer Ecology Academy | Grades 5-9 | August 4-9
Join our partners at The Ecology School for a 6-day overnight camp at beautiful River Bend Farm in Saco, Maine. Campers come from all over for this immersive ecology summer learning camp. During a week-long program, campers will explore and connect with the ecosystems that make up our state’s unique ecology including visiting the farm on-site, exploring the surrounding forest, learning about their green campus, and a field trip to nearby tide pools. Daily, campers will explore with their field group and get to choose from a variety of camper-choice activities such as canoeing, outdoor cooking, and nature art. Each day ends with a campfire and reflection.

The Ecology School’s state-of-the-art River Bend Farm Campus on the banks of the Saco River will act as a home base. Campers will stay the night in the dormitory with Ecology School educators as counselors.
