The Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands and the South Berwick, Berwick, North Berwick and Eliot recreation departments welcome you to “Take It Outside” Family Fun Day! The event will be held from 10am-3pm on Saturday, March 13, at South Berwick’s Vaughan Woods State Park, a 250-acre park consisting of forest hiking trails along the Salmon Falls River.
The recreation departments will host numerous outdoor games, a “storybook walk” and several onsite demonstrations including maple-sugaring, fly-fishing and outdoor survival. There will also be a wildlife demonstration by the Center for Wildlife at Cape Neddick. Center representatives will bring turtles, a raptor and other creatures for a special program starting at 1 p.m. Visitors will be able to learn about how animals, particularly predators, adapt in nature.
Ready for lunch? A bonfire will be set up for a cookout of hamburgers, hot dogs, quesadillas and s’mores.
Admission is ONLY $1 for adults, ages 12-64; children and seniors are FREE. Lunch is provided! For more information, call (207) 384-5160 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting.
