The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire is more than its Yellow Submarine!

The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire may be best known for its Yellow Submarine exhibit—which remains a fan favorite—but this museum has evolved a LOT since its opening in 1983! Snuggled in downtown Dover, CMNH features two floors of interactive fun for kids ages 0-10, including a Little Farmers exhibit where kids can “harvest crops” and take care of a cow, pig and chickens; a Play Loft exhibit with active play designed around themes like “Block Party” or “Bounce”; and coming in the Fall of 2026 a 30 foot tall climbing structure built by the famous “Luckey Climber” company! Those are just a few of the newer exhibits inside CMNH so if you haven’t been since you were a kid, you’ll want to give it another visit soon!

CMNH does a great job of keeping its exhibits accessible and a visit never feels overwhelming. They do this by asking visitors to reserve spots for “Play Sessions”, which they offer most days from 9am-Noon or from 1-4pm. Your admission is good for one play session, and they limit attendance so your family doesn’t feel rushed or crowded out of any exhibit during your visit.

And talk about affordable! Annual Museum Memberships cost as little as $100, and part of the museum’s mission is to keep things affordable and accessible for all families, so they offer a ton of great discounts. For instance, if you have an EBT/WIC card from any state, you and your family pay only $3.50 admission per person. They have discounts for military members, both active and veteran, educators, one-on-one aides, social service agency clients, and more!
