Kid’s Art Camps – Summer 2023 

RADICAL ROCKIN’ RAINBOWS! WITH ANNA NUTTALL
Join us this week for quite possibly, the most COLORFUL WEEK EVER! We will celebrate color all week long through experimentation, exploration and lots of art-making! What is YOUR favorite color and why? Where do colors come from, what can they mean!? We will explore the science of color, light, and our eyes; discover how some of the most brilliant colors are made (and see some fun videos from paint and crayon factories!)! Let’s have a blast discovering some of the worlds most crazy colorful master artists and make LOTS of our own wild, colorful, art all week long! We will create 2D and 3D works of art using traditional and innovative tools, techniques, and materials.

This camp is an indoor program, held in our Living Innovations Art Room and Haas Hall at PMAC.

We are unable to register students who are not within the age range for this program. Students must be 8 years old at the time the camp begins, and no older than 12.

LOOK AGAIN! POP & OP! BIG, BRIGHT, BOLD AND …EYE-BOGGLING! WITH ANNA NUTTALL
Let’s dive into the FUN and POPular worlds of Pop Art and Op Art this week! It’s going to be BIG, BOLD and a lot of FUN! We’ll explore some of Warhol’s lesser-known brighter-than-life animal prints, Lichtenstein’s giant cartoons and many more masterpieces in wood, plaster and mixed media! Then we venture into OP ART! We’ll see and make our own works of art that bend the brain and trick the eye! Discover the magic of colors, patterns, hidden pictures, tessellations and more. We will create 2D and 3D works of art using traditional and innovative tools, techniques, and materials.

This camp is an indoor program, held in our Living Innovations Art Room and Haas Hall at PMAC.

PMAC ARTISTS CAMP FOR AGES 7-12
We’re moving our ever popular under the tent outdoor camp, INDOORS! PMAC Artists Camp will be held indoors at Community Campus! With it’s great outdoor space and playgrounds for breaks, playtime and outdoor lunch (weather permitting), this summer is sure to be a blast!

Sign up for one week, two weeks or three weeks. Students ages 7-12 will paint, draw, sculpt and more with Alexa Smith, PMAC teaching artist! Space is limited — sign up today to guarantee your spot!

Out of this World, July 10-14
Come explore the furthest galaxies, deepest oceans, fantasy worlds, sci-fi planets, and more, as we adventure into the unknown! During camp this week, we will experiment with paint, sculpture, printmaking, collage, and more, to create artwork that stretches beyond the imagination.

Animal Adventures, July 17-21
Animals have inspired artists’ creations since the beginning of time. From the cats of ancient Egypt to the birds and monkeys painted by Frida Kahlo, animals have received the spotlight in art for a long time. This week, we will use a variety of mediums to make masks, sculptures, paintings, and more, that are dedicated to our furry (or scaly!) friends.

Art and Nature, July 24-28
Nature is all around us, from the little bugs beneath our feet to the vast trees that stretch above our heads. Nature can inspire art, but nature can also be used to create art! This week, we will make our own landscapes, draw inspiration from the earth for mixed media and printmaking projects, and find ways to use natural materials to create masterpieces.

Teen Music Workshops – Summer 2023

ROCK AND BEYOND SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR TEENS, WEEK 1
ROCK out with us in this summer’s Rock and Beyond Summer Workshop! Expanding beyond Classic, Indie and Hard Rock, bands will be encouraged to explore Hip Hop, Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Metal and more — wherever their interests lie! Bands are formed at the beginning of the workshop and each band will learn a tune of their choosing and write and record an original tune. The Rock and Beyond Summer Workshop will conclude with a show. Led by PMAC teaching artists, students will learn valuable skills in musicianship, teamwork, songwriting, stage presence and more!

Open to Guitar, Drum Set, Vocals, Keyboard, Bass Guitar, Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Viola and Cello. Placement audition required for new students. Limited spaces available for Rhythm Section students – please register early! Enrollment will be limited and all participants are expected to follow PMAC’s safety guidelines. Students will be meeting inside PMAC’s building on Islington St.

Schedule includes a TEEN ROCK SHOW at Prescott Park Arts Festival on Friday, July 21 at 5PM.

SUMMER ROCK 101
This is everything we offer in Rock and Beyond with a pre-teen focus, including a show at the end of the week. Open to guitar, drum set, vocals, keyboard, bass guitar, flute, sax, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, and cello.

Placement audition required for new students. Limited spaces available for Rhythm Section students – please register early! Enrollment will be limited and all participants are expected to follow PMAC’s Safety Guidelines. Rock 101 will meet indoors at PMAC’s building on Islington St.

PMAC SUMMER JAZZ WORKSHOP
Join us for the 21st summer of PMAC Summer Jazz Workshop! This program is designed for intermediate and advanced teen musicians looking to develop their jazz skills or wanting to learn jazz technique for the first time. Students will learn traditional contemporary jazz tunes throughout the week, and end the week with a live performance for the public. A background of 1-2 years of study on the student’s primary instrument is required. No audition is required to attend the workshop. Open to Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Keyboard, Bass Guitar or Upright Bass, and Drum Set. Limited spaces available for Rhythm Section students – please register early! This program will be held indoors at PMAC.

The Jazz Camp week concludes with a Teen Jazz Show at Prescott Park Arts Festival on Friday July 14 at 5PM.

Summer Lesson Flex Packs

Our Summer 2023 Session runs June 26 – August 18, 2023. Enjoy studying an instrument or exploring a new art form during the summer around your vacations and summer camps! Lesson tuition is based on the schedule that is formed. The most popular offering is a 6-pack of half-hour music lessons ($270.00) and our 6-pack of 45-minute visual arts lessons ($387.00).

Adult Music Programs – Summer 2023

Students must follow PMAC’s safety protocols for attending any onsite programs at PMAC. Students need to bring their instruments (exceptions for drummers and keyboardists). Students need to bring their own lunch and drink (no shared meals will be provided).
