PLAY THE TIMBERNOOK WAY!
TimberNook is an innovative nature-based developmental program designed to foster creativity, imagination, and independent play in the great outdoors. Founded by a pediatric occupational therapist, we take nature programming to the next level!
Located on 12 acres of wooded land and surrounded by 50 acres of conservation land in the rural town of Barrington, New Hampshire. Children have access to woods, giant mud puddles, and a slow moving river to explore. We offer year round programming for ages 18 months to 14 years of age. Children enjoy experiences from “construction work” in the mud to designing boats and then testing them out to creating entire villages in the woods. We also train providers and teachers from all over the world at this location.
2025/2026 Programs at TimberNook, Barrington
Tiny Ones is designed for the smallest of our TimberNook adventurers. You and your child will venture outdoors for creative play opportunities that foster healthy child development. They’ll be doing everything from grand-scale art experiences in the woods to mud construction parties in the giant mud puddles. You’ll also receive ideas on how to inspire independent play at home.
This is a five-week series held on Wednesday mornings.
Adult Participation Required: Adults come with the child to the program to observe them in play!

Our popular forest program engages children in outdoor play and learning during fall, winter, and spring months. Children will enjoy bringing stories to life, diving deep into their imaginations, engineering grand-scale play experiences, and so much more. Forest programming has never been more fun!
This year-long program will be held on Thursdays and costs $1850 per child. A $450 non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration. The rest is split up into monthly payments of $350 starting September 1st and ending December 1st.

Barrington is where the concept of TimberNook was first born, continues to run, and now houses our headquarters and training facility.
