2026 Arts Academy Summer Camps
Disney’s Newsies Jr. (June 22 – July 14)
Based on the award-winning Broadway musical, Disney’s Newsies JR. is a One Act version of the 2012 Tony Award Winning Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.
When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what’s right.
Including the now-classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart.

Pajama Party: A Musical Revue (July 20-24)
In Pajama Party a Musical Revue, written by Cristi Cary Miller and Jay Michael Ferguson, it’s time to pick up our toys, take a bath, brush our teeth and put our PJ’s on to end the day. But wait! What’s that noise I hear under my bed? Where’s my teddy bear? See how bedtime can really be a blast in this creative musical play! With songs like Pajama Party, Marching Orders, Lullaby for Me and others, this engaging and fun musical will bring our young student’s creativity to life!

Pure Imagination: A Musical Revue (July 20-24)
Pure Imagination is a Broadway revue featuring songs from across MTI’s Broadway Junior® collection. Shows like Seussical, Shrek the Musical, Annie, Matilda to Disney favorites like Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Willy Wonka and more, students will get to sing and dance their way through some of their favorite songs!

The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition (July 27 – August 18)
L. Frank Baum’s beloved story of a young girl’s adventure in a magical land has been entertaining audiences for over a century. Based on MGM’s blockbuster 1939 film, this stage adaptation, features the characters and celebrated songs from the film, and brings the wondrous Land of Oz to life in a jubilant theatrical experience.
Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both unpleasantness and beauty.

Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy provides world-class theatre education in the form of courses, camps, and workshops, from working Broadway and Regional Theatre professionals, to children and young adults particularly those who may not otherwise have access to such resources nor this level of focused study and attention.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Scholarship funding is once again available for this year’s camps. Awards range from 25-100% of tuition costs.
If applying for a Scholarship, you will not need to register for the camp. Your Scholarship application will serve as the registration. A space will be held for you pending the Scholarship review.
Final Scholarship applications are due by Monday, March 31. If you are awarded a scholarship, an email will be sent that contains instructions and the code to finalize your student’s registration.
Applicants will not lose a spot in any camps while awaiting the Scholarship Committee’s determination. Apply Today!
To be considered for a principal role in either Newsies , Jr. or The Wizard of Oz Youth Edition, students must attend a live audition or submit a video audition. Those who wish to be in the ensemble do not have to attend or submit an audition. Detailed audition information and materials will be sent out upon registration.
