The summer programs at Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy strive to create new opportunities for students’ success, by increasing self-confidence, teaching goal orientation and professional etiquette, strengthening collaborative skills, and preparing students to perform at their personal best. DISNEY’S FINDING NEMO JR
Disney’s Finding Nemo JR is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS THE MUSICAL
Back by popular demand! This 90-minute, brand-new musical comedy features the beloved characters and hit songs from the original Disney Channel films! Book and additional lyrics by Nick Blaemire, music adaptation and vocal arrangements by Madeline Smith. In the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until the benevolent teenage son of Belle and The Beast offers a shot at redemption to the troublemaking offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar. Entering a completely foreign world, these four junior villains need to decide if they should follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL YOUTH ED.
The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic 60-minute stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world! based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau.

MUSICVILLE
This 60-minute, NEW children’s musical takes you on an adventure with Maiden Melody and Radical Rhythm as they attempt to save their town from the Sorcerer of Silence. On their quest to the Castle of Composition, they pass through the Desert of Doo-wop, the Ocean of Opera, and the Terrible Terrain of Tango meeting musical friends and foes along the way. Their journey teaches them about new kinds of music, overcoming obstacles, and the importance of working together! Book, Music, and Lyrics by Denver Casado and Betina Hershey. WE ARE MONSTERS
We Are Monsters is a hilarious NEW 60-minute musical cabaret that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters. The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n’ roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Most importantly these monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique.

SCIENCE FAIR SPECTACULAR
Our students will have an exciting time combining science and music in this outstanding musical written specifically for this age group! A musical about great scientists, we meet Einstein, Marie Curie, Galileo, Sir Isaac Newton and others who sing a musically varied score with clever lyrics and deliver witty dialog that is sure to be a hit with students and parents alike! With songs like Surfin’ Through the Science of Sound, Ode to Pluto, Three Laws of Motion and Go, Galileo! it is sure to be a fun and immersive experience! LEMONADE THE MUSICAL
Join in the fairytale frenzy when Chicken Little, the Three Little Pigs, Humpty Dumpty, the Cat with a fiddle, Little Bo Peep, Little Boy Blue and a host of other characters are having a BAD DAY! With the help of a cheerful Mother Goose, discover how they learn to make the best out of life’s ups and downs. This clever musical features original songs like A Change of Heart, Get Your Lemonade, Recipe for Joy, and other fun songs by John Higgins and John Jacobson.

WHEN I GROW UP
A baker! A sailor! A cowboy! A movie star! Life offers so many choices for kids today; they are free to be whatever they choose to be! When I Grow Up the musical explores these choices in today’s lingo for today’s kids. From a driving rock opener to a burly sailor chantey, a soft-shoe baker song to an ambling cowboy tune, this musical lets kids explore a variety of occupations and careers through music from composers John Jacobson and Emily Crocker. Our students will have fun as they project themselves into the future, build self-esteem, and have fun shouting to the world, “I wanna be me WHEN I GROW UP!”

Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy provides world-class theatre education in the form of courses, camps, and workshops, from working Broadway and Regional Theatre professionals, to children and young adults particularly those who may not otherwise have access to such resources nor this level of focused study and attention.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Scholarship dollars are available for Summer programs. If you have students who are interested in participating in these programs and may not have the financial resources to do so, complete the application. Awards range from 25-100% of tuition costs and you will be notified by email. APPLY TODAY!
