Anchored Reading offers personalized, one-on-one virtual literacy tutoring for students in grades K–8, grounded in evidence-based practices. Their approach blends expert instruction with engaging, individualized support to help children build strong reading skills and lasting confidence.

Led by experienced educators, Anchored Reading’s tutors are licensed professionals with over five years of classroom experience. Each tutor is trained in the Science of Reading and holds a Dyslexia Awareness certification, ensuring instruction is both research-backed and responsive to students’ needs.

Anchored Reading is enrolling for our summer program! Summer tutoring is offered in 8-week packages. All packages must take place within a 10-week period, between the dates of June 23rd and August 29th. Limited spots remain.

More about Anchored Reading

At Anchored Reading, we use UFLI Foundations, a structured literacy program developed by the University of Florida Literacy Institute and grounded in the science of reading. Designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, UFLI offers explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, high-frequency words, decoding, spelling, and fluency. Lessons are multisensory and interactive, incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities alongside skill-based games to keep students engaged. The program’s clear structure and visual supports make it especially effective in a virtual setting. Backed by recent research showing significant literacy gains, UFLI helps all students—especially those who struggle with reading—build foundational skills through intentional, research-backed instruction.

Anchored Beginnings

The Anchored Beginnings package focuses on kindergarten prerequisite literacy skills, including letter identification, letter sounds, blending, segmenting, and rhyming. All instruction is based on the science of reading and utilizes the Orton-Gillingham approach to help prepare students for reading success in kindergarten.

Anchored Essentials

Anchored Essentials is offered in literacy instruction for students in grades K-8. After a comprehensive reading assessment, tutoring is tailored to your child’s individual needs and goals. Our focus is on providing evidence-based instruction, grounded in the science of reading, to strengthen decoding skills in order to increase reading fluency. Tutoring services will include in-depth instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics instruction, fluency practice, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

30 or 45 minute sessions (2-3x per week)

Anchored Achievers

Anchored Achievers is the ultimate package designed for those aiming for excellence in reading. Anchored Achievers offers comprehensive support, including advanced reading strategies, intensive one-on-one tutoring, and tailored lesson plans to meet specific goals. It also provides access to exclusive resources, enrichment activities, and weekly progress reports to ensure sustained progress and achievement.
