Seacoast area families have really missed getting together in-person at Families First. The long awaited time has come to welcome families back to their campuses. These playgroups and parenting programs have always been such a lifeboat to new parents for so many years. It’s a wonderful safe space not only to meet other new moms/dads and talk about all the things new parents have to talk about. Even better it’s a nice way to introduce babies and toddlers to being social and playing with new friends. Be sure to share this exciting news with any new moms you know!

Family Hike Nights

“Most kids have technology, school and extracurricular activities covered. It’s time to add a pinch of adventure, a sprinkle of sunshine and a big handful of outdoor play.” (Penny Whitehouse)

We will meet at the Community Campus Playground every Monday night this summer weather permitting (except for July 5th) to walk, talk, explore and play together. All parents and children are welcome. The Playground is accessible from the front parking lot of the building (around to the left side), and the trails are suitable for children who can walk (not baby carriages or strollers).

You are invited to “hike” the trails with other families or play at the playground. Please bring your own bug spray, sunblock and water. We will provide nature journals for each family to record their observations and discoveries!

The Family Hike Night will be held in fair weather only. Check our FB page for cancellation announcements, which will also appear on our website homepage in the bottom right corner.

This group is free and open to all parents, grandparents, caregivers & children. No registration necessary. Unvaccinated adults are required to wear masks.

  • Parent Cafe for Dads on 6/15 (for dads and grandfathers)
  • Anxious Parents Anxious Kids on 6/22 with Lynn Lyons

In addition, we offer these ongoing virtual groups:

  • Relative Caregiver Recharge groups – virtual and hybrid options
  • Mother to Mother weekly group
  • CHIPS group – for caregivers of a child with an incarcerated parent

Our 3rd Annual Book Discussion Series will focus on how we can help our kids (and ourselves) get through these uncertain times full of change and transition. Reading the book (Anxious Parents Anxious Kids) is optional — all are welcome to join the discussion for any of the weeks that work for you! If you want a free copy of the book, send Patrice an email and you can pick it up at Goodwin Community Health or Families First.
