Have a child who loves music and you’d like to help them explore their passion? Know anyone that would love a free 30-minute online music lesson with a teaching artist?
PMAC (Portsmouth Music & Art Center) is partnering with Service Credit Union to offer 100 FREE music lessons on PLAY – a brand new virtual learning program that makes it easy to play from anywhere in a pressure-free setting. It’s fun. It’s easy. And for one week (January 25-30, 2021) — it’s FREE!
Free Music Week, made possible through a generous gift from Service Credit Union, involves 100 free classes being made available to area children and anyone who wants to try it, with no obligation.
Initially conceived as a temporary response to the challenges of holding in-person programs during the pandemic,
PMAC Online PLAY was turned into a full-fledged program that gives aspiring musicians easier access to one-on-one instruction from teaching artists.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Service Credit Union for making this possible and allowing the community to celebrate free music instruction using our new virtual learning program,” said PMAC Co-Founder and CEO Russ Grazier. “This week of free music will allow anyone the ability to explore their musical passion from home using a program we’ve designed to harness the high-quality instruction people expect from us.” Giving the community access to the arts is something Service Credit Union leaders say they believe is crucial — especially as more and more people find themselves at home.
“We’re very excited for the opportunity to help bring music and arts education to people of all ages through PMAC’s program,” said Wendy Beswick, Vice President of Marketing at Service Credit Union. “At a time when many of us may feel stuck at home, it’s fantastic that PMAC is providing this free, rich content that can help kickstart those hobbies we’ve been meaning to explore.”
