Cochecho Arts Children’s Festival: Drive-in movies and entertainment on 8/14 & 8/15!

Just because we are socially distancing doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the arts together this summer!

The Cochecho Arts Festival has taken place each summer for the past 33 years, bringing music and art to downtown Dover, NH. Given the situation around covid19, the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce is adapting to bring you the arts in a safe and enjoyable weekend-long format.

Drive-In Movie Series: Rocketship and Shrek!

Friday, August 14, 2020; 7:30pm

Admission: $10 per car

This movie series will take place in the parking lot of St. John’s Church in Dover. Please see here for information on parking, restrooms, rain dates and more.

We will start the evening off with a showing of the short film (15 minutes) Rocketship by local filmmaker Alfred Catalfo. Following this will be the main showing: Shrek! “Doors” open at 6pm, with the movie starting at 7:30pm.

Each ticket admits one vehicle (up to 8 passengers). Each ticket gets the vehicle two parking spaces; one space for the vehicle, and one space for chairs, blankets, etc., giving you the option to enjoy the show outdoors while staying socially distanced.

It’s SHOWTIME! This show is perfect for all ages, and the kids will have crazy fun. Magic Fred offers lots of age-appropriate comedy to keep everyone laughing, while the amazing high-quality magical illusions will leave you in awe!

Wayne from Maine

Wayne has been writing and performing his very own brand of children’s music for over two decades. From Maine to Maryland Wayne performs at schools, libraries, fairs and festivals. Wayne along with percussionist, JimmyJames, “The KoongaBoonga Man” invite volunteers to the stage to play instruments or sing into a wireless mic. There’s never a dull moment and the audience becomes part of the
show.

BJ Hickman

From Hollywood’s Magic Castle to Hampton Beach, BJ Hickman performs comedy, audience participation magic shows with clever
deceptions, mind reading miracles, lots of non-stop action-packed magical fun and silly surprises. BJ Hickman’s longest running gig in his lifetime of performing magic shows is The Cochecho Arts Festival for The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce.
