Spring Weekend Celebrations at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire! May 13-15.

Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration
Join the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire for their first annual Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration! This busy weekend will be filled with springtime science experiments, crafts, performances, scavenger hunts and, of course, fairy houses & gnome homes! Fairy Houses & Gnome Homes will be on display starting Saturday, May 14 in Henry Law Park and the Museum’s Play Patio. Natural materials will be available outside for visitors to create their own to take home or add to the display in the park! Interested in bringing a fairy house you made at home? Be sure to drop it off at the Museum by Friday, May 13th. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their favorite fairy, gnome, prince, princess, knight in shining armor, or even unicorn & dragon attire. Dover businesses are joining in the fun and decorating their windows or even having special deals for the event, so be sure to make a visit to downtown a part of your day! A list of participating businesses will be available at the front desk of the museum. All activities are included with regular Museum admission and free for Members. Be sure to reserve and pre-pay online ahead of time to secure your spot, as we expect this weekend to sell out! Museum hours are: Mask Optional Play Sessions on Friday & Saturday, 9am-noon or 1-4pm; Mask Required (everyone over the age of 24 months) Play Session on Sunday 9am-Noon. Bring your brilliant creation into the Museum to the front desk. Museum staff will safely store it until it’s time to go into the park on Saturday morning.

Visitors can make a packing peanut gnome or fairy house in the Museum’s STEAM Lab

ALL DAY: Mushroom Huts & Fairy Photos
Design & decorate a mushroom hut using paper products in the Muse Studio and take photos in front of the special Fairyland backdrop! Fun props like wands & wings will be available to use for photos.

ALL DAY: Scavenger Hunt
Try a fairy themed scavenger hunt and take home a small prize.

10am OR 2pm: Science Friday*
Make a sparkly magic potion and learn about states of matter! *Science Friday is sponsored by the State of New Hampshire on behalf of the UNIQUE College Investing Plan

11am OR 3pm: Fairy Crafts
Make a floating flower fairy to take home!

Saturday, May 14

Lindsay and Her Puppet Pals
Lindsay and her Puppet Pals bring the laughter and fun to the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s first annual Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration with special performances during both the morning (9am-noon) and afternoon (1-4pm) play sessions. The Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration is an entire weekend full of crafts, activities, scavenger hunts, and special guests like Lindsay and her Pals. The performance is included with museum admission, and free for members! Masks are optional when visiting on Saturdays. Online reservations/ pre-payment is required. Visit the natural material building station in the park to make your own and add it to the tour!

Sunday, May 15

Mini Ballet Performance with Musical Arts of Dover
Students from the Musical Arts of Dover will perform a fairy themed mini ballet at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire on Sunday, May 13th at 10am as part of the Museum’s Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration. The Spring Celebration spans the entire weekend, May 13-15, and includes live performances, springtime science experiments, crafts, and of course fairy houses and gnome homes. The performance is included with Museum admission, and free for Members. Masks are required for everyone over the age of 24 months when visiting on Sunday’s 9am-noon play session. Paint a dragonfly or butterfly to take home, or decorate fairy wings that can be fitted to a stuffed animal, doll, or action figure!
