At Camp Wa-Klo we recognize that at each stage of a girl’s life, she needs something a bit different. So that a girl can grow with camp, we have a progressive program.
Camp Wa-Klo is brimming with activities of every kind. At Wa-Klo you don’t have to specialize in any one area; you can broaden your horizons and try over 30 activities from our waterfront, land, creative arts or equestrian programs. Try a little of everything and see what activities you enjoy! One of the best parts about Wa-Klo is you can try all of these activities during your time at camp and we already have all of the equipment for you!
Camp Wa-Klo empowers a girl to be confident, independent, and have a voice. Throughout her time maneuvering through social situations in her cabin, choosing what new activities she wants to try, and speaking in front of the camp community during Reflections, there will be ample opportunities for your daughter to make connections and grow!
Progressive Program by Ages
At Wa-Klo we recognize that at each stage of a girl’s life, she needs something a bit different. Because of this, we have a progressive program. Additionally, we have campers with us for 6, 7, or 8+ years; we have to keep things new and fresh for these campers while still holding true to Wa-Klo and our traditions!
Juniors & Mids / Grades 2-5
Our Juniors and Mids are the youngest campers at camp and because of this, most of them are first time campers! With this age group, we have a higher counselor to camper ratio as this age group needs that extra bit of help. They need a little extra bit of care and tenderness as they navigate being away from home and independent; for many, this is their first time experience this!
Our counselors help with the daily needs of the children such as brushing teeth, applying sunscreen and bug spray, and much more. Our counselors are surrogate parents and are there to help with all of the little things that families do at home.
Inters / Grades 6 & 7
Our Inters are in 6th and 7th Grade. Bringing so much energy to camp, our counselors help them to become independent, navigate social skills in the cabin and encourage them to try new activities. Our counselors help with the daily needs of the children such as ensuring that the girls brush their teeth and hair, apply sunscreen and bug spray, and much more. Our counselors are surrogate parents and are there to help with all of the little things that families do at home.
The Area / Grades 8-10
Our Seniors and Pioneers gain independence and develop their interests through choosing their own schedule each week and trying new and challenging things, they experience leading younger campers through games and events, and build meaningful connections in the cabin and around camp.
Like in the previous age groups, our counselors are there to support our oldest campers. The counselors ensure the girls apply sunscreen and bug spray, clean the cabin, and have an amazing time at camp!
Leadership Training / Grade 11
In this full summer program, girls develop their leadership skills by taking a leadership class, assisting in some activity classes, organizing a camp wide program once a session and volunteering outside of camp in the local community. Girls who complete the LTG program are able to apply to be Junior Counselors the next summer.
2026 Dates
There’s a camp stay suited for everyone. We have a 3, 4, or 7-week option for Grades 2-10; a 2-week option for going into Grades 2-7; and a Leadership Training Group (LTG) for girls entering Grade 11. The 1st session is completely different to the 2nd session, so a 7-week camper gets a full, unique experience with no program repeats. We are a camp that tries to keep in mind the busy schedules of families, so, hopefully there is a session that fits every lifestyle.

2026 Rates
Camp Wa-Klo prides itself in getting great staff for exceptional programming and facilities that receive a “5-star” rating. The dining room has wonderful food and the equipment is kept in top notch condition. The equestrian area has a beginning ring, a huge riding area for various levels of riding experience, and a jumping field. There are rustic trails all around the camp property for a trot through the woods. There’s a reason why we are considered a premiere New England camp, for we take pride in everything we do! – Please note we have limited spaces in our riding program.
