Sing, dance, and have fun with our weekly Summer Concert Series.
Concert Times: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Swasey Parkway 316 Water Street, Exeter.
Each year our series showcases high-quality artists featuring a variety of genres of music. It’s one of Exeter’s best summer traditions. Our department has been doing this series for over 30 years now!
2021 Bands Performing
June 24 Driving Force has been going strong now for a number of years and, although we continue to play all the great songs you’ve come to expect, we’ve been working hard to expand our songlist. So, come check us out – you’re bound to hear tunes you’ve never heard us play before.
July 1 Cold Engines is an amalgamation of some of the finest players on Boston’s north shore. Brought together by David Drouin and Aaron Zaroulis of The Brew, this all star cast of artists brings together a mix of soul, new wave, rock, and dance all across the country. After exploding on the Northeast scene and releasing 4 records inside of 3 years, the band has been seen sharing stages with their heroes and honing their instantly identifiable sound. Averaging 150+ shows a year since launching in 2015, Cold Engines is preparing to release their most ambitious record to date. “Kiss My Heart” 2019, sets the bar ever higher. (DUE TO RAIN POSTPONED TO AUG 26th)
July 8 The Kenny Brothers Band is a “Mountain-Rock” brotherhood that has been captivating audiences with their folk, blues, and unapologetic grooves. The three brothers grew up in the backwoods of Stratham, and since 2014, they’ve released their debut album, two EP’s and have travelled across the country spreading their very own roots music.
July 10: Truffle Five guys who love to play music together. Over thirty years of playing for the best fans in the universe. We’ll get together in any combination that suits the room, the vibe, the crowd, or our fancy. Solo, duo, and trio acoustic shows; hybrid or fully electric trios; electric four and five piece madness.** Fireworks start after the band Truffle performs. **
July 15 The Midnight Wrens is out of seacoast New Hampshire’s suburbia, The Midnight Wrens blend threads of Americana, funk, jazz, and folk into soothing, sometimes gravelly, rich original compositions. Formed in 2017, the band includes singer-songwriter and guitarist, Tom Powley (Percy Hill, The Fearless Ones), singer-songwriter and bass player Joe Kenny (The Kenny Brothers, Jake and the Whiskey Stones) guitarist Bryan Killough (Groovechild, The Hot Club of Portland), drummer Steve Ruhm (Say Zuzu, Groovechild) and often accompanied by keyboardist Duncan Watt. Laced with colorful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, The Midnight Wrens’ songwriting is eclectic and adventurous as it ventures down familiar roads with occasional diversions into improvisational grooves.
July 22 North River Music has an Americana sound with strong harmonies and expressive musicianship. Playing covers of rock, bluegrass and country songs, a North River set is fun to listen to with something familiar for everyone. From the Eagles and Dylan to the Indigo Girls and Grateful Dead come to dance, come to listen – you’ll like what you hear!
July 29 Club Soda is a four piece band based out of Concord, New Hampshire. Club Soda has over 30 years experience entertaining audiences of all kinds throughout New England. We do the “Best of Top 40” hits from the 50’s to today plus a whole lot more. We play the songs you love!
August 5 Whiskey Horse is New England’s most exciting Outlaw Country cover band, serving rocked up and rowdy current and classic tunes. With soaring 3 and 4 part harmonies, two-guitar attack, rock-solid rhythm section and outrageous energy, there’s always a surprise in store at a Whiskey Horse concert!
August 12 Slack Tide is a one of a kind live performance, Slack Tide delivers a high energy show. The band’s focus is on the blending of various genres ranging from classic rock to reggae to blues. Drawing inspiration from bands like the Grateful Dead, Slack Tide also focuses on live improvisation. Performances feature on the spot jam band techniques such as solo battles and crowd requests. The band combines all of these musical ideas into a unique feel good style that is sure to get everyone on their feet in no time.
August 19 The NH Fiddle Ensemble is a community training orchestra that teaches all the basics of performing and musicianship, both in the traditional manner (learning by ear) and using sheet music. The graduated parts allow musicians of various ability levels to play together in harmony.
