Pollinator Festival at Cider Hill Farm

Cider Hill is celebrating all things bees, butterflies, birds, bats and ladybugs from June 22-28! Help us show some love to creatures essential to our food supply! This week long event features a full line up of FUN happenings with live music, interactive pollinator wing installation, tastings, hands-on family-friendly activities, meet the beekeepers, hayrides, specials and workshops. Here’s what’s scheduled with more events and activities being added weekly!

Monday 6/22 – Sunday 6/28

Free weeklong ways to celebrate with NO registration required:

  • Interactive Pollinator Wing Installation. Open daily 8 am – 6 pm. Bee the pollinators! Take selfies in the fields with assorted bird, butterfly and bee wings hand-painted by local maker Sage & Oak Creative. Learn about the importance of our beloved pollinators along the way. FREE. Open daily. Wings painted by local maker, Sage & Oak Creative.

  • Under Appreciated Pollinators Mini Wing Wall. Open daily 8 am – 6 pm. Visit the newest set of wings to learn a bit more about bats, moths and flies. 

  • Pollinator Activity Sheets & Stickers. Available daily 8 am – 6 pm. Pick up a pollinator activity sheet and pollinator sticker inside the farm store anytime from 8 am – 6pm. Free. Pick up both at the register. While supplies last.

  • Hive Observation. Visit the store 8 am – 6 pm for our own honey, food specials, beeee-autiful decor and visit the observation hive to see if you can spot the queen!

Tuesday 6/23

  • Bee, Butterfly & Bat Stories with Amesbury Public Library. 10 – 10:45 am. Stories about bees, butterflies, birds, moths, bats or even small mammals that help carry pollen. Free. RSVP >

Wednesday 6/24

  • Free! Lettuce Grow Children’s Program. 9 am and 10 am sessions. 40-minute hands-on program guides our wee farmers on a short, educational farm hike and teaches them how to plant crops. Pre-registration required (tickets open May 1)

Thursday 6/25

  • Meet the Beekeeper & Jam Maker. Without pollinators, we wouldn’t have fruit. And without fruit, we wouldn’t have jam! Cider Hill Farm’s jam maker and fave resident homesteader are both sharing their incredible knowledge. Visit them in front of the farm store from 11 am – 1 pm for samples of our own honey and jam. Free. 

  • Discovery Thursday – Strawberries! 9:20 & 10:30 am sessions. In this 50 minute session, explorers will go to the strawberry patch with instructor, Miss Ana, to learn about the parts of a strawberry plant! They’ll help the farmers prune “runners” and create a small berry craft. Registration required. $12 per child.

  • Spring Farm-to-Table Dinner. 6 pm – 8 pm. Join as we gather community for a multi-course meal and mini farm tour to welcome spring crops and celebrate estate-grown hard cider. $100 per person. Buy Tickets.

Friday 6/26

  • Pollinator Themed Scavenger Hunt & Obstacle Course. 12 – 6 pm. Free. 

Saturday 6/27

  • Pollinator Themed Scavenger Hunt & Obstacle Course. 8 am – 6 pm. Free. 

  • Coffee & Bees, Yes Please! Did you know bees play an important role when it comes to coffee acting as a pollination booster? Cider Hill Farm & Kaha Coffee Roasters are joining forces again to honor our essential pollinators during National Pollinator Week with samples of locally roasted coffee. 9 am – 12 pm. 

  • FREE! Morning with the Raptors with Tailwinds – 9:30 & 10:15. RSVP>

  • Free! Pollinator Activity Table with the North Shore Children’s Museum. 10 am – 2 pm.

  • Julie Koon Book Reading & Art Tent. 11 am & 12 pm readings

  • Roll Honeycomb Candles, Pollinator Masks & Meet the Beekeepers. 10 am – 12 pm. Join Essex County Beekeepers Association (ECBA) to learn about beehives and roll a bee’s wax candle to take home. And visit the children’s pollinator activity tent to make n’ create wearable bee n’ butterfly masks. Free. While supplies last.

  • Outdoor Hard Cider Bar. 11 am – 4 pm

  • Free Live Music 12-3 pm.

  • Food Truck. 11 am – 4 pm

Sunday 6/28
