Stash those phones and quit those screens. Hike the trails, walk a tightrope, make cocoa and crafts, create blackout poetry, paint a tile for city-wide community art project: you name it. On Saturday, March 7th Newmarket Unplugged will join communities around the world in the spirit of National/Global Day of Unplugging. The goal is to disconnect from devices and reconnect with ourselves, loved ones, and our community. Events will be hosted around town hosted by members of local organizations, including: Newmarket Historical Society, Newmarket Public Library, SELT, Seven Rivers, Four Winds Nature Institute, Aryaloka Buddhist Center, Black Crow Collective and more. This project is an effort of the Newmarket Elementary School PTA in partnership with Lamprey Literary Society and Newmarket Arts, Culture, and Tourism Commission.
