A cherished local tradition offers indoor & outdoor viewing again this year! Portsmouth Historical Society will be spreading out the gingerbread creations for everyone to view and enjoy both at the Discover Portsmouth Welcome Center and throughout downtown in shops and restaurant windows!

To celebrate over 400 years of Portsmouth’s history, the gingerbread committee at Portsmouth Historical Society has chosen the theme of “Portsmouth Past, Present and Future.”

Portsmouth Historical Society is celebrating this sweet season with the 33rd Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Exhibition from Friday November 24 through Thurs December 30. Come join the fun and enjoy the magic of the season throughout downtown!

The displays are open to the public at Discover Portsmouth Welcome Center daily from 10am to 5pm. Open until 7:00 pm on Fridays in December.

Downtown Gingerbread House Scavenger Hunt:

Find all the Gingerbread Houses in Portsmouth store windows. Get your Scavenger Hunt form stamped by the shop. Then turn it in to Discover Portsmouth by 12/19 and be eligible for a giveaway.

Here’s How to Enter:

Step One: Get a Stamp Sheet
Download & print or pick one up at the Discover Portsmouth Welcome Center or at participating retailers (while supplies last).

Step Two: Collect the Stamps
Stop by each of the locations listed and present your sheet for a stamp!

Step Three: Turn It in (by 12/19)
Fill out the contact information at the bottom of the page and return it to the Discover Portsmouth Welcome Center at 10 Middle Street or submit a photo or scan to info@PortsmouthHistory.org for a chance to win a prize.
