NEW! STEAM Saturday at 3S: Worlds of Motion for kids 3-13 on Saturday 9/14!

The goal of STEAM Saturdays is to provide a fun, educational and hands-on look at SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART, and MATHEMATICS for families and children. Join us outside in the Loading Dock to create, learn, and explore– without having to clean up the mess!

September’s STEAM Theme: Toss and throw, bubbles galore– In Worlds of Motion, there’s much to explore!

Activities include:

  • mega marble run
  • big bubble making
  • pendulum paintings
  • catapult building

Featured Guest Specialist: Rock Street! Performance begins at 12:30pm.
A family band based in Portsmouth, Rock Street will put your body in motion with fresh, funky hip-hop grooves for kids and their favorite grown-ups. Get down to a live performance of songs from the band’s debut album, Playground, celebrating the simple joys of climbing trees, swimming in the ocean, and having fun and maybe a new surprise or two! Shake, shimmy, and sing along!

Event Info:

  • Families welcome. Activities geared for ages 3 – 13.
  • Drop in anytime between 11:00am-2:00pm!
  • Free and open to the public. Suggested donation of $5/kid or $10/family
  • Reservations are not required, but they do help 3S and the artist prepare materials in advance.
  • Rain or shine! In the event of inclement weather, STEAM Saturday will be moved indoors to the Gallery or Performance Space.

About STEAM Saturdays at 3S:
Facilitated by 3S Artspace Program Manager, Knate Higgins, STEAM Saturdays allows families and kids to interact with different guest specialists in their respective field, and participate in fun activities. With a different theme each month (July, August, and September), each STEAM Saturday will provide a different set of activities within each theme.
