Portsmouth Historical Society is pleased to announce another year of a sweet local tradition. Over 60 gingerbread houses have been created by local businesses, artists, families and kids. Get your family and friends together and come see these magical creations. The exhibit is free and open to the public every day from 9:30am-5:00pm through December 22.

Wentworth by the Sea

What stands 4 feet tall, is filled with more than 350 pounds of gingerbread, glued together by multi-colored icing, decorated with hundreds of assorted gum drops, lollipops, Licorice whips, M&Ms and wafers? None other than the Seacoast’s largest Gingerbread House created by the talented Wentworth by the Sea culinary team. This confectionery masterpiece, will be on display and available for viewing and photo opportunities through December 25th. Grab the kids and a camera for some holiday snaps. We *dare* you to eat something sweet after that!

Sea Festival of Trees

On display from November 21 through Mid-January; Gingerbread House viewing is FREE!
See New England’s largest whimsical confectionery creation on display in Blue Ocean Event Center lobby. This year’s giant gingerbread house features icons of Salisbury’s past and present. The 8-foot tall sugary structure is constructed of edible gingerbread, candy, frosting and other colorful holiday sweets.

Join us this holiday season and create your very own festive winter decoration. Families and children of all ages are welcome. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Call to register.

Kittery Recreation’s Gingerbread House Decorating
Kittery Community Center, 120 Rogers Road, Kittery ME
Tuesday, December 3, 2019; 5:30pm-7:30pm
Cost: $5 per house

Come decorate your very own Gingerbread House! We’ll supply the graham crackers, the frosting, and the delicious candies — you supply the creativity! Must pre-register for this event by calling 207-439-3800. No walk-ins please.

Gingerbread Workshop

Cost: $48.95 per Large House. (Due to space restrictions, Limit of 3 people per house).
Family Traditions are made at Smolak Farms and the Gingerbread Workshop is the perfect place to start yours! Our talented bakers will be on hand to show you some decorating tricks as well lend a hand. Our candy bar is fully stocked and ready to help you create a gingerbread masterpiece! Registration is required. Tickets are available here.

Family Gingerbread Build 2018

Put on your favorite holiday sweater, grab your friends, and fulfill your destiny as the best gingerbread house builders in the world! Okay, maybe its not that intense but it will put your building skills to the test. So, put a team together and join us at our Annual Gingerbread Build. There is sure to be lots of holiday cheer, great laughs, plenty of sweet tooth goodness, and a chance for us all to support the On Belay community. You won’t want to miss it!

Anyone can come to this event. All you need is a team of 1-4 people to participate.Each team will be given a kit to build a gingerbread house, mall, restaurant, whatever. It is up to your team! So bring your best creativity and build a masterpiece. The most creative ones will win a prize. This event helps support future On Belay programs. Each team is one step closer to helping a child in our community who is in need. And, who doesn’t like to indulge in sweets every once in awhile.
