Procrastination busters. Start your day by eating a frog.

Everybody wakes in the morning with a list of things to do. If you’re like me, some of those tasks persistently show up day after day. Why? Because that particular task makes my upper lip curl with disgust, so I avoid it. But it never goes away and just continues to cause me angst on a daily basis until I fold under the pressure and just do it.

There’s a saying about setting priorities…Eat a Frog. What it means is this: If the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long!

So if your current least-favorite chore is, say, writing out holiday thank you cards (mine!), tackle it first and get it off your plate. That way, you can spend the rest of your day knowing you’ve completed the most irritating task off your list. Checking the box on that particular “frog” will allow you to attack the rest of your daily chores with greater motivation and satisfaction.

Next up, exercise. Darn frog. Lip curl.
