Powderhouse Hill offers skiers and snowboarders a rope tow (generated by a re-habbed 1939 Ford Model A engine!), 3 trails and 175-feet of vertical elevation. There is an adjacent sledding area, although not run by Powderhouse Hill, is open to the public. Had your fill of falls, er, runs, for the day? There is a small lodge at the base with a snack bar and wood stove.

Owned by the town of South Berwick and run completely run by volunteers, Powderhouse Hill is proud to continue the tradition of providing affordable outdoor recreation opportunities for the youth and citizens of the area. One of the great by-products of the on-going operation is the opportunity for kids to practice social responsibility in sharing the space with one another, shoveling snow to cover the lift track, and older ones setting examples for the younger ones.

And here’s the best part: Ticket prices are $5!! (Please note: cash only! Don’t forget an extra buck or two for the après hot chocolate!)

Powderhouse Hill (ski, snowboard and sledding)
Agamenticus Road, South Berwick ME (207) 384-5858
Open Wednesday and Friday 7:00pm to 9:00pm; Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm – 4:00pm

  1. My 10 year old has been going here for 2 years now and has learned all his snowboarding skills here! great place, close to home and cheap! Highly highly recommend it! Its amazing to see those little ones whip down the hill with no fear after a couple runs, less imtimidating for little ones then going to gunstock for your first time teaching them!
