Welcome to the Portsmouth Music & Arts Center (PMAC)! Our mission is to build community through the arts by providing all people with the opportunity to achieve their full creative potential, regardless of their age, ability, or economic status. We accomplish this through high quality music and visual arts education programs and by creating ensemble, performance, and exhibition opportunities for students, professionals and audiences. PMAC is a full member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts.

Since 2002 we’ve motivated and inspired more than 2,000 art and music students of all ages. Our faculty’s commitment to the highest educational standards, combined with the passion and dedication of our students, is at the core of this success.

At PMAC we offer visual arts classes for elementary and middle school students. We also offer individual instruction in art for students of all ages. We focus on strong foundations through the study of a wide variety of media and cultural traditions.

Our music programs are designed to meet the needs and aspirations of students of all ages and ability levels. Regardless of genre, our teachers encourage the development of fundamentals, technique and musicianship. While our curriculum is focused on classical, jazz, and rock, many students explore other genres and we welcome guest artists who introduce students to a wide array of culturally diverse styles.
