New stuff at CMNH — Thinkering Lab & Gallery 6 Art Exhibition!

You’re invited to the Children’s Museum of NH’s redesigned Thinkering Lab and the new Gallery 6 Art Exhibition!

Thinkering Lab Exhibit Opening

Welcome to the redesigned Thinkering Lab! Using Imagination Playground pieces, kids can shape their environment with blocks, gears, ramps and more. These modular, rectilinear parts are easy to stack, line up and move around. Kids and their imaginations are in charge of what they build and how the build it. “Kids are learning construction, pretend play, role-playing and how to invent their own games,” shared Exhibition Manager Sara O’Neil. The exhibit opening will be FREE for all and no reservation is necessary. The entire museum will be open, and a special Gallery 6: Unconventional Materials art opening will be happening at the same time. The museum thanks Fidelity Investments for sponsoring this new exhibit space.

Gallery 6 Art Exhibition Opening: Unconventional Materials

Where there is an idea, there is a way to express it. Where there is a material, there is a way to turn it into art. In the Children’s Museum of NH’s Gallery 6 winter exhibition, the museum challenges artists to transform unconventional materials into something beautiful, thought-provoking or just plain fun! Artists use their materials in a way that transcends their original purpose. The aim of this exhibition is to not only show materials that are unconventional, but also to alter the way people think about everyday objects. The participating artists are: Barbara Albert, Lin Albertson-Thorpe, Taintor Child, Eve Corey, Elizabeth Doherty, Caryn Duncan, Danielle Festa, Marcia Hansen, Joe Kennedy, Students from Mind’s Eye Studio, Nancy Morgan, Michal Smiglowski and Beth Wittenberg.
