NEW! “Worth the Trip” Series: LEGOLAND® delights young builders with new City Builder Exhibit!
“Worth The Trip” series are written by WorcesterCentralKidsCalendar.com Regional Manager, Sarah Lefebvre
We headed out to LEGOLAND® for the opening of their new exhibit, City Builder, not knowing what to expect as we had not had an opportunity yet to go. We were so impressed with the color, imagination and fun that immediately greeted us from even the outside of the building!
City Builder Exhibit
The new exhibit, City Builder is an interactive city where visitors get to add their own elements and designs to the already established skyline. There are police stations, roads, beaches, cars and boats. Our daughter loved the movable pieces and older children were interacting with the structures by adding other items to the window sills, roofs and finding fun Lego pieces (like an octopus!).
Our two year old daughter was a big fan of the Duplos® section and the tunnel slide suitable for toddlers. Around the corner was a “house” with a kitchen and living room. She kept insisting we spend our time there “making dinner.” It was fun to watch her imagination take over as she made dinner out of Lego® pieces and “cooked” the food in the Lego® bowls.
We explored other areas like the City Indoor Play Zone with climbing walls, slides and a jungle gym. It is a training center for fire fighters and construction workers in the making!
One of the most visually impressive areas is their MINILAND exhibit complete with moving boats (and a whale!), a Fenway, a Gillette Stadium and an airport. There were other iconic Boston buildings and historic places, complete with sound effects and interactive displays (wait until you see the Big Dig!)
