Budget-friendly! FREE admission to The Currier Museum every second Saturday of the month.

Here’s a budget friendly activity! Every second Saturday of the month, the stunningly beautiful Currier Art Museum in Manchester makes it OK for you to bring your entire family for a fun-filled afternoon of art appreciation and activities— FOR FREE. Arrive any time between 10:00am to 12:00pm and your family can enjoy free admission to the museum (visitors are welcome to stay until the museum closes at 5pm).

Every Family Saturday, the museum hosts a new theme and offers hands-on art activities, a guided tour of the museum and access to all open galleries—American, Modern, European, Contemporary, Special Exhibitions and the kids’ Discovery Center. Hungry? There is also an indoor café (that is as breathtakingly beautiful as the art work itself!) where you can enjoy a light lunch or snack. The museum also offers on-site locker rental, gift shop, and if your little ones are getting a bit tired on their feet, they do offer a limited supply of strollers.

Check out the Family Fun Calendar to see what special events are on the schedule!

Here’s my favorite part—the Currier has created an extremely well-thought out museum guide for kids that includes an “Eye Spy” game. Children are given clues to find particular works of art in different galleries throughout the museum. Once found, the guide also includes facts and activities relative to each piece of art so that families can discuss and learn about its history together. Very cool.

Before you visit, check out the “For Families” page to see some helpful tips and download the Family Fun Guide!
