Community Roots Summer Programs

Community Roots is an organization dedicated to reconnecting children and their families to their community, their food, and the environment. We offer fun, educational, farm-based programs for children as well as programs for the whole family. Community Roots programs take place at Coppal House Farm in Lee, NH.

Join us as we get back to our roots, get a little dirty, and have as much fun as possible doing farm chores, gardening, caring for the animals, discovering and playing on the farm and along the woodland trails, and regaining our sense of community!

“Food and nature provide so much for us. To make real connections at a young age, is imperative for children. We need to understand what real food is, where it comes from, and who is providing it to us. To combine that experience with the wonders and beauty of the natural world, is perfect. It is inspirational, healing, full of life lessons and amazing fun!” – Pilar Redmond, Director

The farm is our classroom, and our days will be spent outside! We will explore the forest, field, pond, barns, pastures, and gardens while making connections to our food, the animals, the natural world, and each other. Each week will have a different farm-based theme, but every week will include the same amount of outdoor adventure and fun!

I really wish more summer camps with quality programming had hours that worked for working parents. So many have sessions with only 4 hour days. Its really unfortunate as there are many more kids that could benefit.

Hi Bianca! Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately we are just a small program, so at this point we are not set up for longer days. We also find that with our programming, 4 hours is more than enough time before the kids are all tuckered out! A longer day is, however, something we will keep in the back of our minds. Thanks!
