Free Public Sessions

  • The first and third Saturday of every month: 8-10 pm from late September through March and 9-11 pm from April through August
  • Makes a great family outing!
For the Spring of 2019 our Public Observing Sessions are scheduled for:
 
Saturday, March 2;  8 - 10 PM - waning crescent moon - not visible
Saturday, March 16;  8 - 10 PM - waxing gibbous - a great phase to observe the moon!
Saturday, April 6;  9 - 11 PM (NOTE SPRING/SUMMER HOURS IN EFFECT!) - waning crescent moon - not visible
Saturday, April 20; 9 - 11 PM - waxing gibbous moon
Saturday, May 4; 9 - 11 PM - new moon - not visible
Saturday, May18; 9 - 11 PM - full moon
Saturday, June 1; 9 - 11 PM - waning crescent moon - not visible

On the afternoon of a scheduled public observing session we will post a "go-no-go" note on the Observatory's Facebook page.  If the sky is cloudy ar sunset, the session will be cancelled, but check here to be sure: https://www.facebook.com/UNHObservatory/
