Sing, dance, and have fun with our weekly Summer Concert Series

Each year our series showcases high-quality artists featuring a variety of genres of music.  It’s one of Exeter’s best summer traditions.  Our department has been doing this series for over 30 years now!   

LOCATION: Exeter High School- Parking lot- Next to the Stadium

Concert Times: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

June 18 The Midnight Wrens-Out of seacoast New Hampshire’s suburbia, The Midnight Wrens blend threads of Americana, funk, jazz, and folk into soothing, sometimes gravelly, rich original compositions. Formed in 2017, the band includes singer-songwriter and guitarist, Tom Powley (Percy Hill, The Fearless Ones), singer-songwriter and bass player Joe Kenny (The Kenny Brothers, Jake and the Whiskey Stones) guitarist Bryan Killough (Groovechild, The Hot Club of Portland), drummer Steve Ruhm (Say Zuzu, Groovechild) and often accompanied by keyboardist Duncan Watt. Laced with colorful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, The Midnight Wrens’ songwriting is eclectic and adventurous as it ventures down familiar roads with occasional diversions into improvisational grooves.

June 25 Third Martini: Third Martini is a Seacoast-based, female vocal-fronted, lounge-soul band " covering a range of songs from jazz & blues to danceable funk, soul & contemporary pop, delivered with a fresh, energetic groove. 

July 2 Cold Engines: Cold Engines, (Best Rock Band 2016), (Song Of The Year 2017 Nom.)-New England Music Awards, is an amalgamation of some of the finest players on Boston’s north shore. Brought together by David Drouin and Aaron Zaroulis of The Brew, this all star cast of artists brings together a mix of soul, new wave, rock, and dance all across the country. After exploding on the Northeast scene and releasing 4 records inside of 3 years, the band has been seen sharing stages with their heroes and honing their instantly identifiable sound. Averaging 150+ shows a year since launching in 2015, Cold Engines is preparing to release their most ambitious record to date. "Kiss My Heart" 2019, sets the bar ever higher.

July 9 Truffle:  What can you say about a band that’s been together since 1986? Plenty! While many bands come and go within a few years, (Savoy) Truffle is in it for the long haul. They are players and entertainers; it’s what they do!  Their sound, a mix of swampy soul, R&B, Bluegrass, New Orleans grooves, and World music.

July 16 Alan Roux Band:  Rhythm and Blues and Old Country

July 23 Club Soda:  Club Soda is a four piece band based out of Concord, New Hampshire. Club Soda has over 30 years experience entertaining audiences of all kinds throughout New England. We do the “Best of Top 40” hits from the 50’s to today plus a whole lot more. We play the songs you love!  

July 30 Slack Tide:  A one of a kind live performance, Slack Tide delivers a high energy show. The band’s focus is on the blending of various genres ranging from classic rock to reggae to blues. Drawing inspiration from bands like the Grateful Dead, Slack Tide also focuses on live improvisation. Performances feature on the spot jam band techniques such as solo battles and crowd requests. The band combines all of these musical ideas into a unique feel good style that is sure to get everyone on their feet in no time.

August 6: TBD

August 13 North River Music:  North River has an Americana sound with strong harmonies and expressive musicianship.  Playing covers of rock, bluegrass and country songs, a North River set is fun to listen to with something familiar for everyone. From the Eagles and Dylan to the Indigo Girls and Grateful Dead come to dance, come to listen - you'll like what you hear!
